The Restless Creatives - Founder and designer Hayley Neil talks to Lucy, Fiona and Brigitte about how she started her career in the industry.

Back in the spring Hayley sat down with the team at The Restless Creatives to talk all about her career in the industry and also a few tangents covering Bronze Age geekery. It’s a beautiful podcast that explores all creative avenues and is a little behind the scenes of how Rolling In Roses came to be. If you are unfamiliar with The Restless Creatives it’s comprised of Fiona, Lucy and Brigitte who as three floral designers who love to collaborate they created a podcast to dive into other artist’s spaces; to compare similarities, investigate differences and wonder at the sheer genius of amazingly talented artists and makers around the globe, so you can imagine how chuffed Hayley was to be a part of their series, and the final episode in the series too!

For the final episode in the series Hayley speaks to Fiona, Lucy and Brigitte about all things dressmaking, random discussions about Bronze Age burial sites and Hayleys career as a freelance costume designer, maker, and assistant in the worlds of theatre and film, where she worked on an eclectic array of theatre productions and Bifa, Bafta, and Oscar winning films. They also discuss chemical equations , dresses made from recycled plastic bottles reclaimed from the sea, hand smocking and Radiohead, and a fascinating story about an Indian silk farm. And finally, the ‘bump’ that appears in the video is wee Oren Jack.

If you are unfamiliar with amazing women that make up The Restless Creatives, and you want to look at their creative masterpieces in more detail (I would highly recommend!) then their websites are linked in the images below.

Finally, make sure you subscribe to their podcast for when they launch the new series. They cover a diverse range of subject matters and creatives, it’s definitely worth sitting down and listening to their previous podcasts too if you are fascinated by the creative process.
